Setup was straightforward. I charged the battery fully, mounted the camera under the eaves, and aimed the solar panel south. The app guided me through connecting to Wi-Fi in about 10 minutes. Motion alerts hit my phone within 2 seconds. The only downside is the subscription cost for recording, but the live view is free forever.
The spotlight has two brightness settings. I use high mode at night for maximum deterrence. It illuminates the entire driveway and casts light onto the house. The lights stay on for about 30 seconds after motion stops, which is plenty of time.
The camera integrates seamlessly with my Echo Show. I just say "Alexa, show the front yard camera" and the feed appears instantly. It also works with Ring doorbells—when someone rings, I see both the doorbell and this camera view simultaneously.
Installation required basic tools—just a drill and screwdriver. The included anchors worked perfectly on my vinyl siding. The camera clicks onto the mount securely and can be removed easily for cleaning or adjustments. The whole process took under 30 minutes.
The solar panel cable is generously long—about 13 feet. This gave me flexibility to place the panel in full sun while the camera stayed in a shaded spot. The connector is weather-sealed and clicks securely into the camera. No issues with moisture.
