512GB fills up fast in 2025. I installed Call of Duty and a few other games and the drive was almost full. Luckily, I popped open the bottom panel and threw in a 1TB NVMe drive I had lying around. It was super easy to access. Factor in an extra drive cost if you need more space.
It's not an ultrabook, but for a gaming laptop, it's surprisingly portable. I can easily slip it into my backpack alongside my books and lunch. It doesn't scream 'GAMER' too loudly either, so I can use it in professional settings without feeling out of place.
I do some light video editing in DaVinci Resolve, and this laptop handles it surprisingly well. The 16GB of RAM is enough for 1080p timelines, and the RTX 5050 helps with rendering effects. It's not a professional workstation, but for a hobbyist like me, it's perfect.
I was deciding between this and a last-gen laptop with a 4050. I'm glad I went with the 5050. The extra VRAM and the newer architecture make it feel more future-proof. Games just seem to run smoother, and the DLSS 4 support is nice to have for upcoming titles.
I was surprised at how well this laptop handles heat. I played Baldur's Gate 3 for about 4 hours straight, and while it was warm, it never felt like it was going to melt or throttle the performance. The dual-fan setup really does its job.
